Mogg winds up the Keir Starmer fans, but only because he’s right!

Jacob Rees Mogg is winding up the Starmer fanbase by saying he would make a good Tory, but only because they know he's right!
Right, so nothing quite screams a persons Tory credentials like a Tory saying how great a Tory somebody would be, but that is exactly what the haunted pencil himself Jacob Rees Mogg has said of Keir Starmer. He’s gone on record as saying that Keir Starmer would be welcomed by the Conservative Party with open arms. Well this is what you get when you write in the papers praising Thatcher Keith, because it isn’t just fed up, disgusted mouthpieces like me, or disillusioned former Labour voters, or purged Labour members calling you a Tory now sunshine, actual Tories are now saying you’re a Tory boy! This one will be awkward for the Tory enabler bleating Starmeroid drones to explain away, but no doubt they’ll try.
Right, so Keir Starmer has got the blessing of Jacob Rees-Mogg to jump ship to his natural home any time he wants to it would seem, as that article Starmer wrote the other day for the Sunday Torygraph, where he extolled the virtues of Thatcher has made the Moggster into Keith’s latest fan. Mogg reckons Starmer’s article saying he sounded like a Conservative minister launching a leadership bid and well I’d wish Starmer all the very best of luck with that, he truly would be a great leader of the Tory Party, the problem is it makes him a really s**t Labour leader as a consequence.
The article Starmer wrote was called ‘voters have been betrayed on Brexit and immigration’ and Mogg loved it! He said it sounded like something written by an ardent Eurosceptic or a Trussite. Well Starmer has all the moral fibre, integrity and backbone of a limp lettuce, so I can see the similarity to Truss there, but we should remember that if Starmer is now writing like a Eurosceptic to the point Mogg is having a fangirl moment over it, he was once the Shadow Brexit Secretary who lit a fuse under Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership by calling for remain to be an option in a second referendum. Does this man actually believe in anything, or is he just the most self serving populist weathervane in politics, that he can flip from second referendum and remain to having Jacob Rees Mogg cheering on his Euroscepticism?
On the matter of immigration it’s the same, Starmer once said he would make the moral case for immigration and now he’s joining in with the Tories saying its too high. Mogg got very excited about this, saying what Starmer said was ‘vintage Farage’ and as a Tory member, he would like to extend a welcome to the leader of the opposition with open arms.
It does beg the question on whether all this talk of Farage returning to the Tory Party and perhaps leading them is really what the talk of the town is in Tory circles, because now they’ve another aspiring Tory leader, just currently leading the wrong party.
In all seriousness though, this does just show how closely aligned Labour and the Tories now are, there’s nothing in it, nothing between them, they’re engaging in the same culture wars for the same votes, Labour figuring it’s own base won’t go anywhere, so lets appeal for Tory votes.
