Curcumin is effective in the treatment of gastric ulcers, erosions and dyspepsia, with ulcers and erosions reduced or even eradicated after administration of curcumin (3000 mg/day) for up to 12 weeks, while abdominal pain and discomfort were significantly reduced. This explains why in this study we compared curcumin with a PPI as a treatment for functional dyspepsia.
