Putin Receives Grand Welcome In Abu Dhabi

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived on Wednesday (December 6) in Abu Dhabi, the first leg of his blitz Gulf tour.

The host nation staged lavish welcome ceremony with jets flying over the city leaving contrails in colors of Russian flag. Camel and horse cavalry guards lined the route of Putin's motorcade from the airport to presidential palace.

Foot soldiers greeted the Russian leader with drums' beat and shouts overlaid with artillery salute.

Putin arrived in Abu Dhabi for talks President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. He is due to then travel to Saudi Arabia for his first face-to-face meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (also known as MbS) since October 2019.
