A Journey from Legalism to Love - Overcoming Addiction and Embracing God's Grace

In this heartfelt talk, Amber Picota shares her journey from addiction to redemption. Born and raised in a traditional Holiness Pentecostal background, Amber reveals how rigid, legalistic views made her feel trapped and eventually led her to a life of addiction. She talks about how discovering that she was pregnant became a pivot point in her life. Transformative encounters with compassionate supporters like 'Betty' at a pregnancy care center introduced Amber to a new perspective of God's love. Amber’s consistent application of neuroplasticity to rewire her thoughts allowed her to overcome drug dependency and other adverse habitual behaviors. Today, she aims to express God's love with the same openness and acceptance she received to those who might be struggling as she once did. Amber is also the author of the book 'God's Feminist Movement' focusing on empowering women within the body of Christ.
