Othello was released in 1986.

“A minute to learn, a lifetime to master.”

Othello for the NES is a video game adaptation of the classic board game Othello, also known as Reversi. The game was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System and follows the same rules as the traditional Othello game.

Here's a brief description:

Gameplay:

Othello is a two-player strategy board game played on an 8x8 grid. The game pieces are discs that are black on one side and white on the other. The goal is to have the majority of one's colored discs showing at the end of the game.

Rules:

Players take turns placing discs on the board with their assigned color facing up. When a player places a disc, they capture any opponent discs that are sandwiched between the new disc and any of their own discs already on the board. The captured discs then flip to the current player's color.

Victory:

The game ends when the board is full or when neither player can make a legal move. The player with the most discs of their color on the board at the end of the game is declared the winner.

Othello for the NES brings the classic Othello gameplay to the gaming console, allowing players to enjoy the strategic and competitive nature of the board game in a digital format.
