Two Injured in Deputy Involved in Crash

Two drivers were transported to a hospital following a crash involving a Charlotte County Deputy. The crash happened Saturday morning on Wilmington Blvd and Lafitte Pl in Port Charlotte. Deputy Brett Allan Armstead reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign while approaching the intersection of Wilmington Blvd and collided with another vehicle. Deputies on scene say both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Wilmington Blvd is closed while Deputies are still on scene investigating what lead up to the crash.
