Venom 3 gets a live-action Marvel crossover in a new fan trailer that brings together four Spider-Man villains. After two solo movies in Sony's Spider-Man Universe, the need for a crossover story for Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock and Venom has become evident, as Venom is a character who regularly crosses paths with heroes like Spider-Man and other non-symbiote villains. However, Venom: Let There Be Carnage's ending also left a cliffhanger for the sequel, which suggests Venom will face off against yet another powerful symbiote.

If Sony actually adds these characters to Venom 3, such an ambitious crossover would pay off previous set-ups from Sony's Spider-Man Universe and the MCU. Venom 3 would finish integrating Michael Keaton's Vulture into Sony's Spider-Man Universe after the villain's appearance in Morbius' post-credits scene, revisit Mac Gargan's revenge plot from Spider-Man: Homecoming's post-credits scene, and finally allow Venom to meet Tom Holland's Spider-Man after Venom: Let There Be Carnage's post-credits scene teased an eventual shared appearance. Besides, it would give Carnage another chance to shine after Venom: Let There Be Carnage apparently killed him off.
