Support for Democrats is waning in light of the US president's backing of Israel's war on Gaza, University of San Francisco professor Stephen Zunes tells Al Jazeera.

"The Biden administration is responding to increasing outrage among the American people, that our country is essentially aiding and abetting war crimes on a massive scale," Zunes said.

Biden would fail to beat Trump if an election were held today, as he has lost support from key constituencies including progressive voters and American Muslims, the politics professor said.
