Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery, a concept most of us associate with a distant past, but which is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world. The problem is urgent: there are more people enslaved today than at any time in history.

Meet Josephine Crisostomo. She is the Director of Education at LifeWay Network. Jo is responsible for advancing LifeWay Network’s educational and advocacy initiatives. A graduate of Syracuse University with a background in community engagement and mental health, Josephine has focused throughout her career on ensuring that New Yorkers have access to culturally responsive services and information to make informed choices on their health.

Jo spearheads LifeWay Network's education program focusing on labor trafficking, organ trafficking and sex trafficking. Jo raises awareness with our youth and teachers in schools and with the general public in places of worship, community centers, businesses plus with parents and caregivers, law enforcement, healthcare professionals – with anyone and anywhere you want to learn more about this modern-day slavery.

The LifeWay Network safe housing program is the only program in the New York metro area providing safe housing specifically for both domestic and foreign-born women survivors of human trafficking.

4. Know everything about online platforms that your children frequent including FB, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and Gaming Apps.
5. A MUST: Use safety filters on your children’s phones, tablets, laptops, computers and all digital devices in your home.
