On 11/11/22, Zone 3 Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle that did not appear to have valid tags or insurance. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer identified themselves to the driver and occupants and explained the reason for the stop. The officer then observed a firearm in the vehicle in plain view and smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. Without notice, the driver immediately pulled away from the officer during the stop.

Officers immediately established a direction of vehicle travel and a perimeter after observing the driver and passengers abandon the vehicle and begin to flee on foot. The APD Air Unit was requested as well as the K-9 Unit. Upon arrival, the Air Unit immediately located one of the suspects hiding nearby behind a home and advised ground units of his location. APD units closed in and successfully apprehended the suspect after a brief foot pursuit.

The suspected driver was arrested and identified as: Ralique Robinson. He was charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Marijuana Less than an ounce, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Fleeing and Eluding, and Obstruction. The vehicle Mr. Robinson was driving was confirmed to be stolen out of Alabama. Mr. Robinson was transported to the Fulton County Jail without Incident. Although two males remain outstanding as the investigation continues, we would like to Thank and commend our Zone 3 officers, K-9 Unit, and Air Unit for their excellent teamwork in arresting Mr. Robinson and recovering yet another stolen vehicle!
