A child has a right to his mom and his dad. Obviously, we can’t always control every situation to make it the ideal; moms and dads are fallible and human—they fail sometimes, or die tragically. But that doesn’t give us license to intentionally create situations that aren’t the ideal for the child. It’s not about what’s ideal for you—but rather, what’s ideal for children. And surrogacy isn’t comparable to adoption. Adoption takes a broken situation and tries to mend it. Surrogacy makes a broken situation.
