DR NARENDRA MALHOTRA completed his MBBS and MD (Obstetrics and Gynecology) from AMU, Aligarh. He was motivated to move ahead in this field because of his passion for work and care for patients. In 1987 he started doing laparoscopy at Malhotra Nursing and Maternity Home and in 1990 an IUI clinic was set up. The Malhotra Test Tube Baby Centre came into existence in 1997. Since the scope for further expansion at the location was lim- ited therefore they built a whole new multi-spe- cialty set up and Rainbow Hospital started operation in 2013.2013.

Dr Malhotra says there are several common myths related with infertility in our society. One of the commonest is that infertility is the problem of the female, whereas this is absolutely untrue. In 35% of the cases it is associated with the male partner. An- other common belief is that the delay is getting pregnant is only a matter of time and one must keep trying. He says that it must be understood that infertility is a medical issue and needs to be treated as such. Time, according to him, is of utmost im- portance as with advanced age the quality and number of eggs produced decreases and so does the success rate.
