The BRICS Summit was one of the most highly anticipated conferences of 2023, as it brought together some of the most powerful world leaders, including China's Xi Jinping and India's Narendra Modi. In addition to the physical attendees, all eyes were on Russia, with the world awaiting President Vladimir Putin's decision to either attend in South Africa or digitally. One of the major themes for the summit was 'de-dollarization' and expansion, both of which were discussed at length.
