This demonstration used
ammo custom loaded by me, it's not really an
apples versus apples test because the.45 ACP
(especially in 45 super, etc.) can be loaded hotter than
this ammo was loaded, while the 10mm is loaded to
“don’t try this at home levels”.

The 10mm is potentially a more powerful round either way,
but this is still a good visual of two significantly
different power levels.

The 385 fps and 193 ft. lbs. of energy advantage
that this 10mm has over the .45 ACP makes a significant
difference in terminal performance on water jugs.

I will not give out any load data, and
please do not assume you can simply up your
own load charges to match the performance
of the 10mm loads shown here.

The 10mm pistol is a custom 1911 with a
5" ramped barrel with full case support.

The .45 ACP pistol is also a 1911 with a
throated (standard) 5" barrel.
