They weight the same as real American gold eagles but they have no gold in them. These fake gold coins are worthless, but the scammers pass them off as real gold coins. The fake gold coins are manufactured in China and sent to the USA. Counterfeit gold coins should be reported to the treasury and destroyed. If you want to avoid buying fake gold then utilize the gold tests and purchase gold from a reputable dealer. It is a crime to make fake gold coins and fake gold eagles. I have seen many different fake gold eagles over the years, but these new fake gold coins are some of the hardest to spot.
