Residents in multiple cities downriver are trying to figure out what caused a massive boom that shook homes on Saturday afternoon. It happened around 4:30 p.m. Saturday and was felt in multiple cities including Wyandotte, Ecorse, Lincoln Park and much more. Wyandotte Police said the loud boom did not originate in their city, saying, "It was not BASF." Ecorse police also said their officers heard and felt it inside their police station, but they were not able to pinpoint the source of the sound, saying it did not happen in Ecorse. We have several phone calls into first responders to see what the source of the boom was.
