BPD Relationships Borderline's Emotions Aren't Yours To Regulate yet so many with Codependency try so hard to do just this. Trying to walk on their eggshells so they don't get triggered. Trying to help them calm down or stop crying or meet their needs. This is codependent loss of self.

Borderline Personality defined as a serious mental illness by the American Psychiatric Association in partnership with Pharma and the trauma in the childhoods of 87% of those with BPD means emotional dysregulation. They need to learn in therapy to understand where that comes from and to regulate their own emotions.
