Easy weeknight chili and cornbread

Chili recipe
1 pound chopped bacon
1 red onion diced
1 pablano  seeded and finely diced
5 cloves garlic minced
2 ½ tbsp chili powder divided (or to taste)
½ tsp cumin seed
½ tsp ground fennel seed
½ tsp ground clove
½ tsp ground fenugreek seed
1¹ tsp ground coriander seeds
1 green bell pepper seeded and diced
1 can yellow corn
14 ½ ounces crushed tomatoes canned
19 ounces kidney beans canned, drained & rinsed
14 ½ ounces diced tomatoes with juice
1 ½ cups beef broth
1 cup beer
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 tablespoon brown sugar 
salt and pepper to taste

Cornbread Recipe
½cup plus 2 tablespoons/140 grams unsalted butter (1¼ stick), melted and cooled slightly, plus more for greasing the pan
1cup/180 grams finely ground yellow cornmeal
1cup/130 grams all-purpose flour
1teaspoon baking powder
¾teaspoon kosher salt
½teaspoon baking soda
1large egg plus q egg yolk
¾cup/165 grams packed light or dark brown sugar
¾cup Greek yogurt
½cup milk
½cup plus 2 tablespoons/150
