Following Call of Duty Vanguard, which also featured Zombies, MW3 takes a distinct approach. The previous game, developed in collaboration between Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch, had shifted from traditional round-based gameplay to objective completion, a change that sparked significant debate among fans.

In response to negative feedback, Vanguard returned to round-based maps at the end of the game’s life cycle, but some community members were still left with a sour taste in their mouths. And, to add insult to injury, MW2 did not include a Zombies game mode at all.

So, after one year off and an inconsistent year before it, Sledgehammer and Treyarch went back to the drawing board for MW3 and created Operation Deadbolt, an experience unlike anything we have seen before.

Core Maps: Set in beautiful Rio de Janeiro, Favela’s topography gives you a number of options to choose from when engaging enemy Operators.

Estate: Get ready to infiltrate the great outdoors of Estate. Fight for a spot in the lodge or move through the wooded perimeter to flank opponents.

Skid Row: Roam the streets of Skidrow and utilize the new Tac-Stance to round tight corners in this urban environment.

Rust: Prepare for chaos. Fight for your position at the top of the tower or use the map’s various obstacles to avoid detection on the ground.

Ground War: Break through the defenses of the Popov Power Plant. Watch high and low for snipers, armored vehicles, and enemies emerging from the large concrete buildings. Prepare for every range of combat available in Modern Warfare III because in the Power Plant, you can and will experience all of them.
