During the arrest of Tommy Robinson, 40, also known as Yaxley-Lennon, on Sunday during the protest that they said attracted over 60,000 people, police employed pepper spray. Given the magnitude of the gathering, it was the largest antisemitic protest in the United Kingdom since the Battle of Cable Street in 1936, when Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists was faced by east Londoners.

Robinson,  right-wing English Defence League founder, was carried away in handcuffs, his eyes watering from the pepper spray. Near the Royal Courts of Justice in London, where the protest got underway on Sunday, he was taken into custody by about twenty police officers.
