Adventure Now Season 4 Episode 12 - Vessel Hard Aground!!!

Hello and welcome to the 12th episode of the 4th season of Adventure Now!

In this episode we complete our 4 day passage from the Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar) and arrive in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis and Harris in the Outer Hebrides.

Although we have been here a few times before, we always love coming back so we go on to explore the island by car and foot. We get to see the Butt of Lewis lighthouse close up and personal, visit the Callanish Standing Stones, fly kites on a beautiful beach called Uig Sands and Mark also goes swimming as one does when enjoying a summer in Scotland!

Back in the grounds of Lewis Castle we follow the Poppy Trail and Asha finds herself on a mushroom trail.

After a most enjoyable two weeks we head across the Minch and under the Isle of Skye Bridge and through the Kyles of Rhea to another one of our favourites - Mallaig. On the way we eavesdrop on the VHF on a conversation concerning a rescue mission of a vessel which run aground, just to find this unfortunate fishing trawler sitting high and dry on rocks on the entrance to the Kyle of Rhea.

We are welcomed in Mallaig by Kathrin and Daniel from Sailing Polaris.

Filmed in August 2023 using a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000, a Rhode microphone, and edited with iMovie.
