#BlackFriday2023 Video Game Deals Were Pathetic | Xbox | PS5 |Switch

#BlackFriday2023 in the USA signifies a reversal of giving thanks from just 24 hours earlier, instead of partaking in capitalistic ventures out in the wild. In years past, some stores had been opening on Thanksgiving night, but in 2023 it seemed like most stores around here closed for the holiday. That meant that most of the deals were more of the doorbuster style, but inventory levels weren't an issue. We flipped through the ads on Thanksgiving and were pretty unimpressed. In the end I only picked up 4 gaming items the entire week of Thanksgiving, let's take a look as the Black Friday 2023 Video Game Deals were pretty pathetic.

Xbox:
3 Month Game Pass Subscription
Normally $44.99
Sale Price: $29.99

For the last 3 years, I had stocked up on Game Pass memberships, able to get them for $20 to $25 for a 3-month subscription. The best deal I found this year was through CDKeys.com for $29.99 for a 3-month subscription. Unlike in previous years, I only got one as I haven't played my Xbox much lately.

PlayStation 5
MLB The Show 23
Normally: $59.99
Sale Price: $20

I went back and forth on this one as I've been playing a 2nd season on MLB The Show 22 and considered skipping '23 and just getting '24 at launch, but for $20 I couldn't pass it by. What I have played previously I did like some of the tweaks, including bat contact audio tweaks. It sounds much better than '22.

Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe
Normally: $59.99
Sale Price: $24.99

I really love this game on the Wii and wanted to play it on the Switch too, but I didn't want to pay $60 for it. Gamestop had it on sale for $30, and they had a promo that if you ordered online and picked up in-store you'd save another $5. $25 for this is well worth it!

I've heard a lot of great things about this game, but again I didn't want to drop $60 on it. Target had it on sale for $34.99 and I had a $5 off coupon to bring it down to just $30. For that price, LET'S GO!
