I recently came across a viral cottage cheese queso recipe on TikTok and wanted to make an upgraded version. The original queso is a simple combo of 2% cottage cheese, nutritional yeast, and fajita seasoning. My spin on this high protein cheese dip uses a blend of cottage cheese and pepper jack cheese, added veggies, extra lean ground beef for even more protein, and a homemade salsa fresca for serving.

The recipe makes 12 servings (about 1 cup per serving) with 240 calories, 24 grams of protein, 11 grams of carbs, and 11 grams of fat each. You can serve it with lower calorie pairings like jicama chips or baked pork rinds for an extra high protein appetizer or go with the classic corn tortilla chips.
