It rolls, it chirps, it's controlled by a smart phone - the Star Wars BB-8 Sphero RC. It was unboxed for the first time over a month ago, but I finally got one after it finally was back in stock and I had the $150 to fork over for it. First impression? FUN! Watching it roll around on my table as I made the video, all I could think was that my cat is going to love chasing it and severing its head from the body.

Seriously though, Sphero has put some crazy tech into the BB-8 and accompanying app. It's really polished and feels very substantial for its size. Between me and my boys, this thing is going to get a workout. Hopefully my phone batter can keep up.
