Uganda to focus on taking position on phase out of fossil fuels & tripping renewable energy output

The twenty eighth session of the United Nations framework convention on climate change conference of parties is scheduled to take place from 30th November to 12th December.
While addressing the press at media centre in Kampala the minister for water and environment Sam Cheptoris said the key priorities for Uganda in this conference is to take a firm position on the inevitable and essential phase down of fossil fuels, and call for the tripling of renewable energy output to 11,000 gig watts by the parties.
Some of the thematic areas of this conference are climate adaptation, mitigation, capacity building technology development and transfer, gender compliance and transparency, and climate finance.
