Words from Jerimiah Johnson One of the greatest challenges in the body of Christ today is the massive amount of people on social media who are being influenced by those acting like EXPERTS who actually have little to no EXPERIENCE.
For example, I scroll my news feed every week and read an insane amount of statuses from people who are instructing the body of Christ concerning how churches should be run, what the leadership structure should look like, the kind of gospel that should be preached, and so on. There is honestly so much advice, content, and courses available these days that it is makes me dizzy.
The challenge?
Most of these folks constantly posting online and influencing the masses have never planted churches, successfully developed teams, and many of them are wounded and hurt because they actually failed. In other words, they have no verifiable fruit and experience but apparently feel qualified and justified in lecturing the body of Christ every week concerning how things should really be done.
I genuinely believe that the easy access that social media has given to literally anyone in the 21st century has empowered the greatest end time delusion and deception in the Church that we have ever known.
Can you imagine being an engineer and attending a world renown seminar to grow in your career and field, only to find out that while the speaker had acted like an expert online, they had yet to actually engineer anything? They were all talk and no walk. Anyone in their right mind would get up and walk out feeling completely deceived and led astray.
This simple example is exactly what is happening in the body of Christ at unprecendented levels. It’s crazy!
We have people teaching on prophetic ministry and speaking at “prophet” conferences who are NOT prophets. Stop the madness.
We have people claiming to be pastors who don’t have a congregation, who are not discipling anyone etc. Stop the madness.
We have people giving marriage advice and writing books on unity who have been divorced multiple times and their kids hate God. Stop the madness.
We have people offering leadership e-courses and masterclasses who are not even leading anything. Stop the madness.
The Holy Spirit is deeply grieved by this kind of pride and arrogance it must really take to act like an expert on church matters but yet have little to no experience regarding anything we are talking about.
The Holy Spirit is also seriously quenched by the lack of discernment in the body of Christ where the masses are failing to investigate and search for the fruit that remains in those claiming knowledge and understanding.
We must and can do much better. Thousands upon thousands of Christians are being led astray everyday online and I fear many of them do not even recognize it!
