I actually had this happen to me and a lot of people iced me out a lot of times in my life. The coldest lesson I learned that no one really was down for me like I thought at the time(s).

It's easier for me to be and stay a lone wolf. Since I've had so many examples of people in life not being there, it forced me to get really crafty and creative to get things done. I know they don't want to promote soloprenuers, and doing things by yourself, but I've had to become a master at it. What it boils down to is learning that if you don't do it, it won't get done, and your destiny is really in your own hands.
