An explosion happened in Niagara Falls at the Rainbow Bridge Canada/USA border crossing
A car was driving at over 100 miles/160 km, hit a booth, then exploded with some parts very high up in the air, and the rest covered across all 13 lanes for the 13 booths doing checking.
The driver of the car and the passenger both passed away.
A booth agent was injured and was taken to the hospital, but let out later that day.
The car was so destroyed investigators couldn't read the license plate number.
A suitcase or briefcase was found, which the bomb squad had to check in case explosives were in it.
The border crossings in the Niagara area; Queenston-Lewiston, Rainbow Bride (AKA Whirlpool Bridge), and Peace Bridge were all closed, but the Peace Bridge crossing that connects Fort Erie (Ontario) and Buffalo (New York), and Queenston (Ontario) - Lewiston (New York) opened up later. The Rainbow Bridge is still closed due to investigation.
USA President Joe Biden said there would be developments regarding this.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that the country is looking into the incident, and that many questions will be answered.
More measures are being put all across Canada/USA borders from the Pacific to the Atlantic coast.
USA Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas said on X (previously Twitter) that this incident is not terror-related.
Toronto police are increasing patrol.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said that the NYPD will be enhancing security during the Thanksgiving Parade, and also at all entry and exit points into the city.
