The Amazon is home to approximately 400-500 indigenous Amerindians, who call the Amazon rainforest their home. It is believed that these fifty or so tribes have never had contact with the outside world. This fact shows that there are still parts of the Amazon that have not been touched by the outside world and are still a mystery to this day.
