Executive director of UNICEF says humanitarian pauses in Gaza ‘are simply not enough’

“Humanitarian pauses are simply not enough. UNICEF is calling for an urgent humanitarian ceasefire to immediately put a stop to this carnage.”

Catherine Russell, executive director of UNICEF, urged for a ceasefire during a UN Security Council meeting on the situation in Gaza on Wednesday.

Russell added that “the number of (children) deaths in the present crisis has far surpassed the total number of deaths during previous escalations.”
