In many movies, books, and TV shows, owls are shown to be incredibly friendly, intelligent, and affectionate pets. However, do owls make good pets like they seem to be in the movies? While it's true that pet owls have been popularized in books and movies such as the "Harry Potter" series, the truth is that owls are not a good choice for pets at all. In fact, the hardships caused by properly caring for an owl are a big reason why it is best to leave them to the wild, as beautiful and captivating as these creatures may be.

This event occurred on September 20, 2012 in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, when this man was picking mushrooms in the woods and saw a large owl sitting on a dead tree but she didn’t seem to be scared of him. The man decided to come closer and slowly approached the wild owl. When the owl didn’t show any signs of discontent, the man started petting her on the head. Amazingly, this owl enjoyed the petting so much, that she closed her eyes in enjoyment.

It is so cute to see that this wild owl actually loves to cuddle. Animals tend to close their eyes as a sign of comfort and trust when they enjoy being petted.

Footage doesn’t show, but the man says that there was something wrong with her, so he picked her up and took her to the vet. The vet said that both of her wings were broken. She underwent a surgery and was released to the wild after four months. The vet said that this owl breed is called Strix uralensis or Ural Owl and that only 600 were living in Slovenia.
