Designated as a "Barrio Magico" (Magical Town) San Andres Mixquic has gained popularity from the movie "COCO" particulary from it's November first and second traditions of celebrating passed away loved one's know as "Dia de Muerto" on these day's family's take off to the cemetery in center of town to clean and bring gift's to their loved ones tombs. At night, an "Alumbre" is set inside were hundreds of candles are lit to the point that the outside town is glowing from so many candles turned on inside the cemetery.

This walk thru is outside in town, were over the years hundreds come to visit during this tradition and has now become a jam packed festival with many stands set up with authentic food, games, souvenirs to name a few. The little town holds a magical vibration that can be felt. A part two will follow with the actual walk thru inside the cemetery with an explanation of the history of this town and event.
