Several students addressed the Lake Superior State University Board of Trustees during their meeting last week to voice their concerns regarding the administration.

They were there to speak about Interim President Lynn Gillette's comments and subsequent treatment of the cannabis science classes.

According to reports, Gillette made the comments at a student government meeting where he was quoted as saying "Student government should keep a 10-foot pole distance from Cannabis Club given the nature of the club" and that the "Cannabis Club has the IQ of a smushed squirrel after being run over by an 18-wheeler."

Since then, Gillette has made apologies to the student government and to the student body as a whole.
