Did God Give Gaza to Israel?

Did God give Gaza to Israel in Genesis chapter 15? I've heard a lot of Christians say that God gave Gaza to Israel via an unconditional promise to which He bound Himself, and therefore the present conflict in Gaza is just "Israel taking its land back." I don't know that Israel intends to stay, and I don't want to opine on the intricacies of middle-eastern diplomacy here, but I can offer an informed opinion on the question of whether Israel was given the deed to Gaza by God in Genesis 15:18 as some preachers are claiming. But more importantly, I can show how what really matters in this conflict is the centrality of Christ in one's theology.
