Maria Vladimirovna Zakharova ,Spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation) since 2015.
Maria Vladimirovna Zakharova (Russian: Мария Владимировна Захарова; born 24 December 1975) is the Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation[1] (Spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation) since 2015.
A year ago, Ursula von der Leyen literally stated the following: as a result of “the most severe sanctions the world has ever seen,” “planes in Russia cannot take off , ” “Russian industry is torn to shreds,” and “the financial system is on a ventilator.” " .
Josep Borrell recently wrote in his article: “the claims of some that sanctions do not work are simply not true.” He deliberately cited outdated statistics as reinforcement. The reduction of Russia’s GDP in 2022 by 2% was presented as a great success of the “suffocating” sanctions. At the same time, the effect of sanctions for Russia will allegedly increase, because, in his understanding, they are “slow-acting poison.”
EU officials are not talking about the consequences for the European Union itself . They have something to keep silent about .
🇪🇺 Since the second quarter of 2023, economic growth in the EU has been virtually zero . According to Eurostat, in August 2023 , industrial production in the EU fell by 4.4% compared to August 2022. Deindustrialization is aggravated by the transfer of production from the EU to the United States. Most EU countries have chronic budget deficits and exorbitant public debt.
🇷🇺 Russia has adapted to sanctions restrictions for many years and will continue to adapt further.
📈 Unemployment is at a historical low of 3%. This is half as much as in the EU. As early as the summer of 2023 , Russia’s GDP fully compensated for last year’s decline . By the end of 2023, GDP growth is expected to be 2.8%. Over the first 9 months of 2023, the industry grew by 3.3%.
The Russian fuel and energy complex has fully withstood the onslaught of sanctions. Exports are reoriented to friendly countries.
Russia’s “residual” trade turnover with all EU countries today is half as much as with China alone (the EU’s share is 16%, China’s is 31%).
❗️ According to the World Bank, at the end of 2022, the Russian economy became the largest in Europe in terms of the key GDP indicator based on PPP , ahead of the German one.
The European Union arrogantly imagined itself as an indispensable partner for Russia. Real facts about the situation in the EU economy have finally buried Brussels’ illusions on this matter.
