Morguebirth I

Dead eyes fling open, once sleeping, awake.
Called forth beyond death, a second chance decreed.

The pain of life rattles these bones to move.
A symphony of agony, these screams upon steel.
One limb at a time, I reverse this rigor mortis.
A second birth into this cold chamber of the deceased.

Surfaced memories reconnect corroded synapses.
Track marks patterns my pale skin black and blue.

But I died and I should stay dead.
There is nothing left for me on this world.
Abuse put me on the streets.
After the pain, death was a sweet release.
For what reason have I returned to suffer in my failure?

Roaming free the darkness of night feels so warm.
This city has rotted and withered more than me

Homeless are killed by gangs just for fun.
Just like the drug lords, police turn away.
Teens sell their bodies for a fix.
None have hope for their future.

Digging through my insides until I pluck out the demon.
Pools of blood coagulate as the hook rakes in deeper.
Risking death to spare someone a birth into this man-made hell.

Cravings consume me, I thirst for sweet blood and salty flesh.
Are we equal when you take away my rights and my body?

Morguebirth is the first song I wrote for my Necroplague concept album. The lyrics follow the story of a woman who died and was resurrected as a flesh-eating zombie. Enjoy :)
