Baptism by Fire

Matthew 3:11 reads, "...he (Christ) shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and fire."

Seemingly few Christians understand that there is an additional baptism we are meant to endure during our born-again experience, being the baptism by fire.

Or as Hebrews 3:7-8 reads, "Wherefore, as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:"

Have you ever wondered why you would be tempted to harden your heart if you were to actually hear the Lord speak to you?

It's because He is going to ask you to do something contrary to all that you had hoped for, prayed for, believed for, sown seed for, confessed, or had heard taught from the pulpit that would occur as the result of your great faith in God.

After all, if He were to ask you to do something that you were already in agreement with then you would have no reason to harden your heart.

Meaning that the Lord is going to ask you to endure your baptism by fire where you will be forced to work out your own deliverance with fear and trembling.
