Life Force Salamander playthrough | Konami Arcade collection

I really like this game because I used to play the NES version as a kid. This arcade version is naturally much harder, but still quite easy compared to most other arcade shmups. The music is great, but I don’t like the sound of the instruments used as much as the NES conversion.
There is loads of variety in the levels and they look great. There are loads of enemy types too.
The main problem with this game is that you can’t choose your power ups like the Gradius games, and indeed the NES version of this game. So, you end up picking up whatever power ups you can see. This isn’t too bad until you get too many Speed pickups, and then it is almost unplayable because you are too fast and end up crashing. This makes it much harder and made me have to save state much more often.
This is a very good game but the NES version improves on everything and most importantly, is possible to complete without save states. The NES version also has additional levels and a better last boss.
