He became a national hero during the Hundred Years War while serving under the Jeanne d'Arc after helping to recapture Orleans, and he was given the highest honor with the title of Marshal of France. Both were present at the coronation ceremony of King Charles, decorated as saviors and national heroes, and it became a memory that forever encapsulated his glory that even his corruption could not overwhelm.
