Pottegener's Cats: proof of hidden, generational and degenerative nutritional deficiency
Even those today who eat a plethora of animal products are deficient in critical nutrients due to the processing of food. That is, the cuts of meat we eat and those we forego. Early man is shown to have boiled food since time immemorial to free the glycine from the bones, which are made of collagen. Taurine only exists in large quantities in cuts of beef that are uncommon today such as the heart, tongue and tail. Taurine is also generally high in seafood, but population growth means seafood is more expensive and less plentiful than it was ancestrally. Critically, Europe and much of Asia had seafood as their main staples. In fact, the main staple food in medieval England was the eel, which was also dried and used as a form of currency. This deficiency has proven to have disastrous results in animal studies that last for generations, and we are showing the same signs of degeneration ourselves.
