Georgia Football Coach Isaac Ferrell of Tattnall County High School Fired after Holding a Christian Baptism for Willing Students

I’m a little torn on this… let me know your thoughts.

On one hand, I thought this was a very beautiful thing and wish there were more people like this coach in the world to help our youths be introduced to Christ.

On the other hand, I would be very upset if a teacher held some kind of a religious ceremony and my child participated without my knowledge as their parent. What if it was a satanic ritual?

In this instance, for me, it was beautiful… but overall, I believe parental consent is important because it could easily set a precedent.

I could not find any parents who made a big stink about it. I did see a few parents say that they were so proud of their children for making the decision on their own to find Christ.

The Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF) denounced the ceremony in an article, saying it’s illegal under the First Amendment.
