Former Ambassador Haley wants to force social media users to "be verified by their name." Haley suggested that this move would eliminate Russian, Chinese, and Iranian bots. She also said that private companies should show their algorithms. She believes that internet trolls are a "national security threat." The House passed Speaker Mike Johnson's continuing resolution to fund the government into the new year with broad bipartisan support. However, the House Freedom Caucus opposed the continuing resolution, resulting in a 336-95 vote. The bill will now go to the Senate, where Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell have expressed support. Fox News reported this week that Michigan Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib is part of a closed Facebook group that glorifies Hamas.
