Aluminum Air Powered Motor

To operate the aluminum air battery, wet the carbon felt with saltwater electrolyte and place a paper towel between the thin aluminum foil and carbon felt. This arrangement can work for a week or more, with only occasional addition of a few drops of water required to keep the reaction going. The paper towel and carbon felt absorb and continue the reaction by acting as a sponge for air bubbles in between.

it is possible to replace the salt water with a thin electrolyte membrane fiber to create a "dry" version of this reaction. This type of battery is known as a solid-state aluminum-air battery, which uses a solid-state electrolyte membrane instead of a liquid electrolyte. The solid-state electrolyte membrane is made of a material that conducts ions, such as a polymer or ceramic, and allows the flow of ions between the anode and cathode while preventing the mixing of the anode and cathode materials. This type of battery has the advantage of being more stable and safer than liquid electrolyte batteries, but may have lower energy density and power output.

this type of system is not a traditional battery in the sense that it doesn't need to be charged. It is often referred to as a "fuel cell" or "metal-air cell," which use chemical reactions to generate electricity. These types of systems have been used in some applications, such as for backup power or in certain types of vehicles, but they have not yet become mainstream for a variety of reasons, However, as research continues and improvements are made, it is possible that they could become a more widely used alternative to traditional batteries in certain applications.
