On A Hill Far Away

Upon a distant hill, the cross did stand,
Weathered and worn, a symbol true and grand.
Its rugged frame, a testament of grace,
Where love and mercy met in a sacred space.

Beneath the sky, where solemn hymns did rise,
A tale of redemption echoed through the skies.
The old rugged cross, with arms outspread wide,
Invited the lost to find a place to hide.

On that hill far away, a timeless song,
Resounds through ages, the melody strong.
The sacrifice made, a gift of pure love,
Descending from heaven to earth, from above.

So let the hymn resound, let voices ring,
Of the old rugged cross, where salvation does sing.
