Tackling the illiteracy Crisis

We asked the community and school reps what sets Hidden Gems apart and the answers poured in from across the nation! From little libraries in California, to Ohio residents driving through who decided to move to NJ BECAUSE of our bookstore! The magic poured into our lives and really encouraged us in our mission.

Hidden Gems Literary Emporium operates completely from donations and community support. One of our greatest struggles is maintaining our storage unit which holds tens of thousands of books for our programming, and is a whopping $400 per month! We just got the call a couple days ago that we are on the auction list once again 😔
