I wrote this song in 1996, a song of hope and devotion for someone who was going through a loss. Today, I stumbled across the lyrics quite by accident, well, who stumbles on purpose, and realised that the lyrics now applied to me. So, I reclaimed the song. Live, and the studio version, this was a fast song; for the return to source, I have slowed the tempo, which is somewhat ironic, since when I wrote it, I specifically wrote it fast in contradiction of the poignancy of the lyric. For the first 2 (of 4) Takes, I swapped the E-minor in the chorus to a C, but for this and the final cut, I reverted back to the original chord sequence. Slowing it down enabled me to add new nuances in the vocal as well.

The fact that my amazing son Dylan is 11 years old is, of course, purely coincidential.
