Today, we're diving into the recent shakeup at Mississippi State, where coach Zach Arnett has been shown the door. This move has the Bulldog nation buzzing, so who should be next in line to take the helm?

First, let's address Zach Arnett's departure. Arnett's tenure at Mississippi State was a disaster from the start. Arnett tried to run a pro style scheme with a team built to run the Air Raid. If you're more talented than the other teams in your conference, that might be ok... but not in the SEC.

Now, onto the exciting part – who's next? My first pick, and I think many of you will agree, is none other than former head coach Dan Mullen. Mullen is a familiar face in Starkville, having led the Bulldogs to some of their best seasons in recent history. His ability to develop players, especially quarterbacks, is just what Mississippi State needs to get back on track. Mullen's offensive prowess and familiarity with the program make him an ideal candidate. However, if he's not up for a return, we've got some other exciting names to consider.

Next up on my list is Jamey Chadwell, the current head coach at Liberty. Chadwell has been turning heads with his innovative offensive schemes and his ability to build a winning culture. His immediate success at Liberty speaks volumes, and I believe he could bring a fresh perspective to Mississippi State.

Barry Odom, currently steering the ship at UNLV and known for his stints at Missouri and as the defensive coordinator at Arkansas, is another name to watch. Odom's defensive mindset and experience in the SEC could be a game-changer for the Bulldogs, who have struggled on that side of the ball.

Don't sleep on Jon Sumrall, the man in charge at Troy. Sumrall has been making waves with his impressive coaching style and has a knack for getting the best out of his players. He could be a dark horse in this race.

Lastly, let's not forget about Bill Clark, formerly of UAB. Clark's coaching resume is impressive, and his ability to rebuild and lead a program is exactly what Mississippi State might need during this transitional phase.

Mississippi State has a crucial decision to make. Whether it's bringing back a familiar face like Dan Mullen or injecting new blood with coaches like Chadwell, Odom, Sumrall, or Clark, the next few weeks are going to be crucial for the future of Bulldog football.
