FBI agents confiscated the cellphones and an iPad belonging to New York City Mayor Eric Adams, intercepting him in the middle of the street following a raid on his top fundraiser.

Adams’ swift return from Washington, D.C. occurred after the raid on Brianna Suggs, his long-time confidante and key fundraiser, who is under investigation for an alleged kickback scheme linked to the Turkish government and other entities.

Upon learning that his devices had been seized, Adams assured CNN that he has nothing to hide.

Emphasizing his expectation for all staff members to comply with the law and cooperate with investigations, he stated, “As a former member of law enforcement, I expect all members of my staff to follow the law and fully cooperate with any sort of investigation—and I will continue to do exactly that.”

According to The New York Times, FBI officials approached Adams on the street, requesting his security team to step aside on Monday night.

Subsequently, agents entered Adams’ SUV and confiscated at least two cellphones and an iPad. The devices were returned to Adams within a couple of days, the Daily Mail reported.
