Spreading vegetation across a hexagonal grid

This is the 1st video in the series on dynamic map environments.

Heroes of Might and Magic games don't have dynamic landscape. It's important for rivers, forests and mountains to remain where the mapmaker has placed them, or they might interfere with map objectives or army passage.

I'm planning to change these game mechanics so that they can work with dynamic landscape. That should make it possible to add a wide range of landscaping rules - like the spreading of grass and trees that are showcased in this video - that I'm hoping will enrich the gaming experience.
