Eyüp Sultan Mosque is a mosque in Eyüpsultan, a district of Istanbul located on the shores of the Golden Horn, outside the Walls of Constantinople. The complex also includes the tomb where Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, the standard-bearer and companion of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, is buried. The current structure, on a much older site, dates from the early 19th century.

Due to its special sanctity, the mosque and its surroundings played a role in the reign ceremonies of the new Ottoman sultans who came through the Cülûs Road to don the sword of Osman Gazi.
